Proceedings of the 1st International Symposium on Qualitative Research

The 1st International Symposium on Qualitative Research (ISQR2016) took place from the 12th to the 13th of July 2016, at the Lusófona University of Porto, Portugal. The 1st ISQR received a total of 48 article submissions, of which 27 (56%) were accepted for publication. Each article was subjected to a process of double-blinded reviewing, performed by a scientific committee composed of highly qualified elements in the scientific areas of the congress. According to the classifications attributed, the 27 articles accepted for publication are part of the present Proceedings: 25 articles that were actually presented by the authors (14 Full Papers and 11 Short Papers) and 2 articles that were presented online, through a YouTube channel for discussion. The articles accepted for presentation and discussion during the 1st ISQR are in these conference proceedings. Nevertheless, 12 of these papers were chosen by an evaluating committee so that the complete text was published in a Springer book under the title “Computer Supported Qualitative Research”. These articles were only published in the 1st ISQR in the form of abstracts with the indication that the complete text can be found in the Springer book.
