11th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2027)

The 11th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2026) will take place from 19 to 21 January 2027 at ISLA – Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology, in Vila Nova de Gaia – Oporto, Portugal, and from 1 to 4 February 2027 online.

WCQR brings together a global network of leading researchers, practitioners, and scholars from 50+ countries, establishing itself as a premier platform for the exchange, discussion, and advancement of qualitative research.

Please read the following information carefully before proceeding with your registration.

Registration Information

• At least one author per accepted abstract must register to ensure its presentation at WCQR2027.
• All authors who will present an abstract, panel discussion, or workshop must register for the conference, regardless of whether they are presenting in person or online. Co-authors who are not registered may not participate in the presentation, either in person or online.
• Please register according to your mode of participation:
  • In-person attendees: select an In-person option.
  • Online attendees: select an Online option.

Registration Categories

Authors, Panel Discussion & Workshop Facilitators

• Abstract author (presenting in person or online) – For authors of accepted abstracts.
• Extra Abstract (in person or online) –This item must be added to the registration when the same author is presenting a second abstract.
• Panel Discussion Facilitator (presenting in person or online) – For facilitators of accepted panel discussions.
• Workshop Facilitator (presenting in person) – For facilitators of accepted workshops.
• Master’s / Doctoral Student – For Master’s or Doctoral students presenting abstracts. Online presentation only. Proof of enrolment from the participant’s institution is required.
• Author / Participant from Least Developed Countries (LDCs): for authors of accepted abstracts or participants from countries included in the United Nations list of least developed countries (see here). Online presentation and participation only. Proof of enrolment from the participant’s institution is required.

Participants (Non-Presenting Attendees)

• Participant (in person) – For attendees without submissions who wish to join sessions in person (with access to the online program).
• Participant (online) – For attendees without submissions who wish to access online sessions.

Training Day

• The WCQR2027 Training Day will take place online, on 1 February 2027 (Western European Time, UTC+00:00)
• Attendance at the Training Day is not included in the WCQR2027 conference registration and requires separate enrollment.
• The Training Day registration fee includes participation in one short course in the morning session and one short course in the afternoon session.
• Participants will select their preferred short courses during registration, subject to availability. See the program here.

• Short courses will be recorded and made available to registered participants for a limited period after the event.
• Please note that places are limited.
• The program is based on Lisbon time (Western European Time, UTC+00:00).
